Step-by-Step Process for Updating PAN Card Details

Who Can Apply?

If your PAN card contains incorrect information such as your name, father's name, date of birth, address, photograph, signature, or other details, you can request a PAN card correction online.

Online PAN Card Correction Process

Step 1 - Visit the Official PAN Correction Portal

Open the official PAN service website.--Apply for PAN Correction
Select the option for PAN Correction / Update.
Choose Individual or the applicable applicant category.

Step 2 - Fill in Basic Details

Enter your existing PAN Number.
Enter your Full Name.
Select Date of Birth.
Enter your Mobile Number and Email ID.

Step 3 - Select the Details to be Corrected

Email ID

Step 4 - Upload Required Documents

Identity Proof
Address Proof
Date of Birth Proof
Passport Size Photograph (if required)

Step 5 - Verify Aadhaar Details

Enter Aadhaar Number if applicable.
Complete OTP verification.

Step 6 - Review the Application

Check all entered information carefully.
Correct mistakes before submission.

Step 7 - Pay the Processing Fee

Choose your payment method.
Complete the online payment.
Save the payment receipt.

Step 8 - Submit the Application

Submit the correction request.
Download the acknowledgement receipt.
Save the acknowledgement number for future tracking.

Step 9 - Track Application Status

Use the acknowledgement number.
Check the application status online.
Download the updated PAN after approval (if available).

Offline PAN Card Correction Process

Obtain the PAN correction application form from an authorized PAN service center or designated facilitation center.
Fill in the form carefully using clear and accurate information. Mark the fields that require correction or update.
Attach self-attested copies of the required supporting documents according to the details being corrected.
Paste recent passport-size photographs if required and sign in the designated space.
Submit the completed application form along with the applicable processing fee at the authorized PAN service center.
Collect the acknowledgement receipt safely. It can be used for future reference regarding your application.
After verification and processing, the updated PAN card will be issued and delivered to the registered communication address, if approved.
