Step-by-Step Process for Applying for a New Passport
Passport registration is the process of applying for an Indian passport through the official passport application system. A passport serves as an internationally recognized identity and travel document issued by the Government of India. It allows eligible citizens to travel abroad for tourism, education, employment, business, medical treatment, and other approved purposes.
Visit the official Passport Seva Portal and create a new account using your email address and mobile number.Apply for Passport
Login using your registered User ID and Password.
Click Apply for Fresh Passport / Reissue of Passport.
Fill in all required personal details carefully.
Verify all information and submit the application.
Pay the passport fee using available online payment options.
Schedule an appointment at your selected Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK).
Visit the Passport Seva Kendra on the appointment date with your original documents and appointment receipt.
If applicable, police verification will be conducted at your address.
After successful verification and processing, your passport is printed and dispatched by Speed Post.
